Below you will find a cross-section of my work for the various companies with whom I have worked. Most of these projects have been abbreviated and not all of my work is shown out of sympathy for your busy schedule. Project Description

Strategy and Entrepreneurship and Corporate Finance were developed as part of an immersive MBA course scheduled to launch in the Fall of 2021. Along with the designing of the two graduate courses in the LMS, responsibilities to the client included grammatical edits to chapter content submitted by SME and revision of learning objectives, consulting on supplemental videos to use, and weekly check-ins with SMEs and client stakeholders. This course will be delivered online asynchronously.

Project Approach

My client was seeking the design of a LMS that would be easy to use by busy adult learners. I grouped module content into three key categories: Resources, Tasks, and Projects. Resources included supplemental videos and SME-created lecture videos; Tasks included links to assignments, and Projects included the resources and tasks for all projects. I used Zoom for project management and communication.

Results

These courses are expected to be completed by 60 graduate students per semester. Previous to completion of these courses, I had completed two additional projects similar in concept.

Collaborators

Collaborators include content SMEs and a quality check specialist.

Project Description

Teacher Training: Session 3: Pacing was designed to provide high school teachers a schedule that outlined the depth in content needed and the amount of time allocated to teach each section of the Challenge Exam. Students are required to pass the Challenge Exam to earn college-level credits for courses completed in high school. This course was designed in collaboration with two additional design teams and is 1 of 3 courses developed. Along with developing the pacing guide, responsibilities to the client included the design of PowerPoints that were used for face-to-face (F2F) training and the collaboration with additional teams to develop a comprehensive teacher training series. This course is offered as a hybrid and contains asynchronous online and F2F components.

Project Approach

My client was seeking a course that would easily import into their LMS so I developed the F2F component using PPT. The pacing guide was developed using Word. We used Microsoft Teams for project management, collaboration, and communication.

Results

This course is expected to be completed by 25 high school teachers per semester. Upon completion of the Pacing course, I was offered additional projects by the client.

Collaborators

Collaborators include content SMEs, a technical writer, and other team IDs.

Project Description

Earning Trust Through Communication was designed to educate a client’s 3rd-party instructional designers (IDs) on company communication policies. This course was designed in collaboration with two additional design teams and is 1 of 3 courses developed. Along with the designing of the communication course, responsibilities to the client included a script on communication for the course and regular communication with the other design teams. This course is delivered online asynchronously.

Project Approach

My client was seeking a customized course so I developed a storyboard using PowerPoint (PPT) and then imported the PPT into Storyline. We used professional voice-over for the course script. We used Slack for project management, collaboration, and communication.

Results

This course is expected to be completed on a continuous with over 50 external IDs per year. Previous to completion of the communication course, I had completed numerous projects for over a year including: Training for educators on how to use Zoom in the classroom and evaluations of courses offered asynchronously.

Collaborators

Collaborators include content SMEs and other team IDs.

Project Description

How To Create A Custom Home Page in Canvas details the steps required to customize a home page and then designate the page as the Home Page in the Canvas Learning Management System. This project met the requirement for a graduate school Assessment & Evaluation course. The idea for the project stems from my collaborators need for a training video to use with faculty and my desire to use the Camtasias software.

Project Approach

My graduate school classmates and I divided the research for the project by interest and anticipated length of time. After the original document was created, one classmate completed a final edit of text, one check formatting and I created the video.

Results

Video used by over a dozen educators within the first few months of being made available to faculty.

Collaborators

Project developed in collaboration with Fred Kelly and Jonathan Kelly.
